Geothermal heat pumps are made up of “loops” that are filled with antifreeze or a water and antifreeze mix. In order for your geothermal system to function properly, the antifreeze needs to be maintained at a proper level. Our team will inspect the levels of antifreeze in your pipes and adjust accordingly. Additionally, the pressure and temperatures within the loops will be inspected and adjusted if needed as well.

Due to the nature of your geothermal system being installed underground, dirt, debris, and other bacteria can damage the pipes and loops by infiltrating them. During your maintenance visit, we will clean any parts of your system that could be affected by this dirt and debris and ensure that everything is clean and running properly.

A common misconception about geothermal heat pump systems is that their air duct system does not need to be maintained like traditional HVAC systems. Geothermal air duct systems do in fact need to be inspected on a regular basis to ensure their airflow is functioning efficiently.

The pipes or “loops” in your geothermal heat pump are arguably the most crucial component of the entire system and must be inspected annually to ensure that they are working correctly. We will inspect the pipes and inform you of any potential issues and needed repairs. In the event that a repair is necessary, it’s crucial that you schedule service as soon as possible so that your system remains in tact and continues working adequately.
